I made this one a few years ago. Its slab built from white earthenware. I used coloured slips, burnished the outside and clear glaze on the inside. It has a small firing crack at the top but not really prominent. Height is about 45cm.
White Earthenware, coloured slips and a clear glaze. Width 40cm Height 20cm. Most of the bowls I make have a footring on the bottom with a small hole in it so that the piece can be hung on a wall.
This is one of the first bowls I made using white earthenware. It was on display in a show called Organic Geometry at the Craft Council of Ireland Gallery in Kilkenny. It is about 40 cm wide. White earthenware and coloured slips finished in a clear glaze. It is sold.
Most of the straight vases i make are made from white earthenware clay, extruded through a die, pinched into shape, decorated with coloured slips and then finished with a clear glaze.
